Off topic but apropos of the Hebrides and their ancient rocks (Lewesian Gneiss dating back 3.5 billion years) is this fascinating look at the timeframe of life on earth. The perspective of passing events puts us in our place -- and makes any reflections on a place like the Hebrides islands even more humbling.
